Local Place Plans

All local  communities in Scotland have been asked to provide a Local Place Plan (LPP) in relation to what the community wish to activate over the next 5-10 years.

Dirleton is an historic, rural village in East Lothian, Scotland. This Dirleton Local Place Plan has been produced by the local community, and is the outcome of extensive local engagement activities. Prepared in accordance with the Town and Country Planning (Local Place Plans) Scotland Regulations 2021. The area covered is the whole of the village conservation area. It contains our vision and key priorities for: Heritage conservation; the environment; housing, transport and mobility, education and communications.

Dirleton LPP Status

The LPP has been put together over recent months and is now at the final stage of a formal consultation period before submission to the Council.

  • Period starts : 00:00 (BST) Sunday 1st June 2025
  • Period ends   : 00:00 (BST) Sunday 29th July 2025

This provides for the statutory 28 day period.
